There's a small hotel and it's nestled along a curve of the Connecticut coastline where Long Island Sound is its widest and the view seems to stretch to infinity. The Hotel dates back to 1800, when it was a boarding house for the shipbuilders during the great whaling days. During its glorious history, the hotel has undergone many renovations and enhancements, but one thing has remained constant: The magnificent location. During our most recent enhancement programs, the winter of 2006-2007, we focused on in room amenities and the special touches to make our guests comfortable. Each of our 31 rooms and 4 magnificent suites has a direct water view and most offer a balcony overlooking the beach. The rooms are large and airy with contemporary furnishings to complement the Victorian architecture. All beds are fitted with soft, high count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets. Ralph Lauren feather pillows and comfortable thermal cotton blankets. The bathrooms contain 100% Country Cotton towels and Rusk bath products. All rooms have cable television and wireless internet service. Continental breakfast is served every morning in our restaurant lounge. From there, it's but a few steps to the beach and the day's activities. There's no place like the Madison Beach hotel for weekend getaways or lengthy sojourns.

From the North:

I - 95 South to route 9 towards Middletown/Cromwell. Take exit 13 and left at light onto Route 17. Follow through Durham, follow signs to route 79- Madison. At the north Madison traffic circle, continue down Route 79 for 6 miles to Route 1 ( Boston Post Rd). Take a right onto Route 1 ( Boston Post Rd. ), take your third left, onto West Wharf Rd. ( golf course on your right as you turn).

From the South:

95 south to exit 61, left off the exit onto Route 79. At the third light take a right onto the Boston Post Rd. (Route1), Take your third left, on to West Wharf Rd. ( golf course on your right as you turn). Take West Wharf Rd. to the end and the restaurant is on your right.

from the East:

95 south to exit 61, left off the exit onto Route 79. At the third light take a right onto the Boston Post Rd. (Route1), Take your third left, on to West Wharf Rd. ( golf course on your right as you turn). Take West Wharf Rd. to the end and the restaurant is on your right.

From the Airport:

East on Schoephoester Rd toward Light Ln. Turn right onto Turnpike Rd/ Ct-75. Continue to follow Ct-75 South. Merge onto Ct-20 East towards I-91/ Hartford/ Springfield. Merge onto I - 91 South toward Hartford. Merge onto Ct-9 South Via Exit 22 South on the left toward Middletown/ Old Saybrook. Take Ct -81Exit -Exit 9- toward Killingworth/ Clinton. Turn right onto Killingworth Rd./Ct-81.Continue to follow Ct - 81. Pass through1 roundabout. Merge onto I-95 south/ Governor John Davis Lodge Turnpike toward New Haven. Take Ct-79 exit -Exit 61 -toward Madison/ North Madison. Turn left onto Ct-79 Durham Rd. Turn right onto Boston Post Rd/ US -1. Turn left onto West Wharf Rd.
